A message from our
Group General Manager, HSC
It is with great pride that I introduce the 2020 Global Mandatory Requirements (GMRs) for health, safety, environment, wellbeing and rail.
The purpose of our 2020 GMRs is to protect the lives of the people we work with and the environments we work in. Put simply, they are here to protect people and places.
The GMRs identify the key HSE and rail risks we are exposed to across our business and provide clarity on how these risks must be managed.
At John Holland, we’re up for the challenge of improving lives. We want to do more than just make sure everyone goes home at the end of the working shift, we want to make sure everyone returns home in a physical and mental state equal to or better than when they left for work that morning.
As an industry leader, we also take our responsibility to our community and the environment very seriously. We want to ensure the work we do has a positive impact on the environment and our neighbours.
To achieve this, I ask for your ongoing commitment in embedding the 2020 GMRs into your workplace. They are mandatory and must be complied with if they are relevant to your workplace.
I encourage each of you to demonstrate positive HSE behaviours, be a leader and make a commitment to lead by example. I ask you to support others in embedding these standards into how we do work at John Holland so we can make a positive impact on our livelihood and the environment.
This is how we will protect the lives of the people we work with and the environment we work in.
To understand more about why the GMRs are so important to our business, I encourage you to watch the video on the GMR Workplace Page.
Thank you in advance for your contribution in helping us create a safe and healthy work environment.
Regards,
Martin Smith
