I will protect myself and others from interaction with plant
1.1 Always give preference to separating light and heavy vehicles
1.2 Physically identify the location of all overhead services and structures and implement controls to prevent damage
1.3 Physically separate pedestrian routes from operating plant, machinery and vehicles
1.4 Eliminate the need for people to work in the operating zone of mobile plant and vehicles
1.5 Verify all plant is fit for purpose and safe to operate prior to coming to site
1.6 Ensure any plant modified outside of manufacturer’s specifications is engineered, certified and approved by a competent authorised person
1.A Only operate plant, machinery or vehicles, if you hold the applicable license, have been verified as competent (if required), and have completed a daily pre-start check of the equipment
1.B Only operate plant, machinery or vehicles if you are fit to work and agree to comply with all relevant road and rail rules
1.C Always sit in the dedicated seating position with the seat-belt fastened
1.D Use a spotter when there is potential for interaction between operating plant, vehicles, people, structures and/or other hazards
1.E Only enter the operating zone of mobile plant or vehicles if permission is received
1.F Only operate mobile plant, machinery and vehicles on even, solid ground unless they are designed / assessed as safe to operate on the ground conditions present
