RISK – Being unfit for work
Fitness for work involves managing elements of personal wellbeing that can affect people, work performance and safety. This includes fatigue, stress, mental health conditions as well as alcohol and drug impairment.
To determine if you are fit to work, ask yourself the following questions:
- Am I under the influence of alcohol or drugs?
- Am I currently taking prescribed medication that can impact my cognitive response?
- Am I suffering from significant headaches or migraines that may impact my concentration levels?
- Is my current mental state preventing me from focusing on a task?
- Am I getting less than 6 hours sleep a night?
If you answered yes to any of the above, you may not be fit to work.
Discuss these symptoms with either your Supervisor or Workplace Wellbeing Champion.
