Rail Industry Worker. Australian Railway Association
The RIW program supports the rail industry by giving participant organisations full visibility of workers moving between projects and employers, maintaining a single electronic record about each worker’s health, education, and competencies.
This ensures that work is carried out by qualified people and enhances overall safety on rail networks across Australia.
Everyone on a rail site must be wearing:
- Protective helmet (as per AS 1800)
- Protective Footwear (high sided lace ups)
- Long sleeves and pant protective/reflective high visibility clothing (as per AS 4602)
- Approved eye protection (as per AS 1337)
- Gloves – to be carried at all times)
