RISK – Unauthorised personnel having access to electrical equipment when it is not safe to do so
Access to all main switch boards need to be locked at all times. Temporary power boards need to be locked whenever possible.
Lockable covers over circuit breakers/RCDs on a temporary distribution board to prevent access or resetting by unauthorised persons.
The main isolator remains exposed to allow shutdown in case of an emergency.
Each supply panel, distribution board or cabinet may have parts that are appropriate to be accessed by general users, however, there may be parts that are only to be accessed by authorised persons, and therefore need to be appropriately controlled.
