RISK – Personnel not understanding the risks or how to manage their personal wellbeing
Refer to the Wellbeing Procedure for training requirements.
Mental Health First Aid Training
This training teaches participants about a range of mental health illnesses and conditions, how to provide support to those who may be suffering from a mental illness, and how to be a first responder for someone in crisis.
Know Your Number Training
This training is a 20 minute toolbox-like training session aimed at getting participants to think about their emotions in a non-emotional way, which is often a helpful tool for male-dominated industries like ours.
Black Dog Managing for Team Wellbeing Training
Mandatory training for all John Holland employees who have direct reports.
This training helps to create leaders who know how to understand, empathise and communicate with, and make reasonable allowances for, those suffering with mental health illness, chronic illness, injury or other wellbeing issues.
Third Space Training
People often tend to bring their bad day home with them. The gap between work and home has been coined the “third space.” It is the gap which creates opportunity to properly reflect, rest and reset so negative thoughts, feelings or issues can be left behind.
This training is delivered by a psychologist and teaches attendees exactly how to find their third space, how the techniques work, where it can be utilised and when it is useful.
Wellbeing Webinars
Provided by the John Holland Employee Assistance Program (EAP), these are online videos regarding a range of subjects such as relationships, children, mental health, substance abuse, improving memory, anger management, breaking back habits and more. These are free to access to John Holland Employees.
