6.3 Establish and maintain facilities that support healthy working conditions and habits

Healthy working conditions and habits include ergonomics, diet and nutrition, social interaction and illness prevention. 

 

 

 

Establish separate areas for workers to eat and socialise away for their work area or desk.

 

Ensure appropriate cleaning is done on a regular basis to maintain the cleanliness of workplace facilities and amenities.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Office ergonomics focuses on physical, mechanical and environmental factors that may lead to injury when they are not properly adjusted in the workplace.

 

The benefits of ergonomics include:

  • reduced workplace cost
  • improved productivity
  • improved quality of work
  • improved employee engagement
  • reduced workplace injury

 

 

John Holland’s Hazardous Manual Task Procedure assists workplaces to identify and assess risks associated with Hazardous Manual Task and Musculoskeletal Disorders such as:
